There are many benefits to attracting birds to your yard and garden and when you set up a bird house or two and a couple bird feeders, you will attract some very welcome, feathered visitors. What are these benefits?
 
Bird songs

Well for one, there are some very beautiful bird songs that can delight your ear, not to mention some very colorful birds to please the eye. I have found that song birds become very vocal around 6:00 in the morning. They sing for about half an hour and then all becomes very quiet. I assume that at this time the birds are out foraging for food. Then at about 7:30 or so, they return to sing some more. After that they are not as vocal. So if you normally get up at 6:00, the birds can be your natural alarm clock. If not, well, close your window and go back to sleep!

 

Harmful insects

Another benefit is that birds will eat harmful insects that plague your garden and yard. Inviting birds into your yard by setting up a bird house eliminates the need for toxic insecticides and give you a healthier life style.

Improves your health

And speaking of health, bird-watching is relaxing and can take your mind off everyday worries. This leads to better health for you. Not to mention that being outside for a few extra minutes a day to watch the birds will increase your health as well.

 

Educational

Watching a bird build a nest in the bird house or feed at your bird feeder you and your child just hung in the back yard affords a great deal of learning experience and “together time” for you both. It is also a great way to get your child interested in nature and the outdoors.

 

Pleasure

Take some time to enjoy nature. This is a pleasure that costs so little and gives so much satisfaction. Check out the bird houses and feeders at this site. There are some bird houses that fit a tight budget and others that are more elegant. Some of the bird feeders are less costly than others.
